Harriet
& Leigh

Harriet and Leigh’s London wedding reflected their love of bold, cinematic design and Baz Luhrmann moments. They wanted their day to feel romantic and layered with strong visual storytelling, so we looked to Luhrmann’s signature style – dramatic colour, heightened romance, and playful theatricality – as a reference point for the styling. The couple got in touch with us just two weeks before their wedding, so with time against us, we worked against the clock to bring their gorgeous vision to life

For their Fitzrovia Chapel ceremony, clusters of pillar candles evoked the romanticism of Luhrmann’s iconic love scenes. Harriet carried a trailing calla lily and amaranthus bouquet in greens and soft ivories, intentionally distinct from the deeper reds used later, creating a calm, pared-back moment that kept attention on her and Leigh.

For the reception at the National Theatre, we introduced colour, movement, and drama. Round tables dressed in deep red linens anchored the space, while a cluster of disco balls suspended directly above the tables brought a Gatsby-inspired touch of glamour.

The table centrepieces leaned fully into rich reds and burgundies. We used sculptural anthuriums, calla lilies, and roses for strong shape and texture, allowing the arrangements to feel bold but controlled. The shift from softer ceremony tones to richer evening florals marked the transition from intimacy to celebration.

The menus and placecards were a key part of the tablescape. We designed these in a deep red ink, illustrated with cherubs for a romantic, baroque reference. Clean typography and restrained layouts ensured the stationery complemented the florals, linens, and lighting rather than competing with them.

The day unfolded in deliberate contrasts – candlelit and quiet at Fitzrovia Chapel, then rich, reflective, and cinematic at the National Theatre. The result was a wedding that felt cohesive, expressive, and modern, shaped by design, detail, and the subtle drama of Baz Luhrmann.
